My first art class was not until my junior year of High School,

but I instantly knew it was where I needed to be. ​

I have always loved art, even when I was little. Though my elementary school didn't offer art, I was still taken to art museums by my family and encouraged to draw, color and paint. Looking back at my 8th grade yearbook, it's not surprising I was named "Most Artistic".

    After taking my very first art class my junior year of High School I quickly changed my career goals from a music teacher to an art teacher. Though I still love music immensely and am a singer, I knew the world of art was where I fit in. I have now been teaching elementary art for 14 years and still love it.

    In addition to being a teacher I have always aspired to bring my ideas and stories to life on paper, and in 2018 I was fortunate to publish my first book. My second book followed just recently in 2020, and I wrote and illustrated both. It is a dream come true to be able to share my stories with young readers!

    With the mindset of inspiring young artists I also have organized, run and taught the Summer Art Workshop for Kids for the past 6 years. Each year I offer new projects that explore different styles, materials and techniques that give my student's a fun creative outlet during their summer vacation.

   

    Though my personal art always seems to get squeezed in last, behind all of the dinners, diapers, packed lunches, school work, etc. I still try to keep drawing and keep being creative when I can. I am always using my imagination and I try to share that as much as possible!
